Product Description

Product Introduction
Zinc Germanium Phosphide (ZnGeP2, ZGP) crystal is an outstanding nonlinear frequency conversion material, often referred to as the "King of Mid-Infrared Crystals." It boasts a broad transmission range (0.7-12μm), a high nonlinear coefficient (75pm/V), good thermal conductivity (35W/mK), a high damage threshold (100MW/cm²), and an optimal birefringence. These properties make it highly efficient for generating mid-infrared lasers within the 3-5μm and 8-10μm ranges through frequency conversion.

Quality Grade:Optical Grade.

Product Features and Functions
This product is mainly used in mid-to-far infrared solid-state lasers for frequency conversion, as illustrated in Figure 1. It operates by using ~2μm wavelength laser as a pump source, which excites the ZGP crystal device. Techniques such as Optical Parametric Oscillation (OPO) or Optical Parametric Amplification are then employed to achieve high-power/large-energy mid-infrared laser output.

ZGP is a positive uniaxial nonlinear optical crystal. The pump light is ordinary (o) light, and the Type I phase matching method is o → e + e with a cut angle φ=0°; for Type II phase matching, it's o → o + e with a cut angle φ=45°. ZGP crystals can utilize either Type I phase matching or Type II non-critical phase matching. The wavelength tuning in ZGP-OPO is mainly achieved by adjusting the incident angle of the pump light, with small-range tuning accomplished by altering the crystal temperature.
